Now that you have watched the video, look for the message in the text.
I wonder if you can see the strategic communications that were used in this mind control story that you just watch. We use hundreds of words each day to overcome communication barriers, sell our ideas, and just plain old talking. What you just viewed is a glimpse of what can be attained.
As you sit there and read this blog post, you may find yourself wondering how you could utilize those same strategic communications in your life. It might now be clear just yet, but it will be after you finish reading this post and understanding the underlying principles.
What you just saw was a mind control story that moved a man to choose a predetermined gift. It was clear at the end that it wasn’t what he originally chose. As you know now strategic communications can be used to persuade and move people to do things. It is a form of mind control or psychological mind tricks.
You see, what Derren Brown did throughout this event as you noticed was he used well placed words to convince this man of what he wanted. He demonstrated to us how strategic communications can be used. It’s these psychological mind tricks that advertisers and marketers use every day.
By now you should already see the pattern taking place. When you watch or listen to a commercial you may notice different subtleties of language. Something that may stand out because it was marked off in a certain way.
Conversational communications can be used to influence people into doing almost anything. I believe the only way you can’t is when it is something morally wrong for the person you are influencing. Watch the movie again and notice how strategic his communications where. How planned his words were.
Hypnosis is a tool used in therapy and many times as a stage tool for magic and TV shows. But when you realize that you learn conversational hypnosis you may begin using strategic communications yourself.
Start learning the tools and you can begin using psychological mind tricks for your own purposes. In the next post I will give a few examples that I have found useful both at work, for getting jobs, and for moving people in the direction that I want.
Please feel free to make a comment if there is something specific you would like for me to talk about. This blog is for you.

i have heard that the derren brown video above is, in fact, faked ie that he just switched the envelope, do you believe this?
personally i agree that the video is fake, but is still a good demonstration of what conversational hypnosis can achieve, however it also can be misleading if people study this subject simply to leanr such tricks, and are disappointed when they find out that they are just magic tricks. what do you think about this?

Nathan, thanks for your post. I hadn’t heard that this video was merely a magic trick but I had heard that some of Derren’s other stuff involves magic “tricks”.
For me it’s not a matter of it being fake or not but how the communication and language was used during the event. I think there were a lot of suggestive forces going on in this setup environment.
In my opinion it’s important to discuss much of the language that’s going on and how it is used. After I took Conversational Hypnosis I found a new world around myself and that’s when I started this blog.
It truly opened my eyes to much more than was there before.
Thanks for your posts and comments. I’m enjoying them and they are providing value to people who visit.
If you would like for me to specifically discuss anything on the blog let me know, I enjoy the feedback.

Derren is great, but you can’t trust a magician and clever editing! What he does in the clip isn’t enough to install a false memory (unless of course there was a HEAP of off camera work). A fine example of a viral video!

Whether fake or real (I think real), Derren is an expert at using “suggestions” to influence the way people behave. Many of us have poor communication; we speak at people rather than with them, showing little interest in what others have to say. David.
