How Lower Self Esteem can really affect your Job Performance

By

Once up on a time the best career advice a Dad could give his children was to “Study well and find a secure Job“. Working for a Big compnay used to mean a Secure Job once up on a time. Once you get in that place, cement yourself to that chair until you retire.

Clearly, Dad is so out of date in that advise.
With so much change in the world economy, no job is secure and no company is completely safe to work for. The Market was in utter Chaos a few months ago.

In this day, what are your chances of saivng your current job? If you are unemployed, what are your chances of success in getting a Job? All those weany new age coaches will tell you to think positive and see the bright side of the situation. I will ask you to do the other way round. Take a moment and think of what can happen if can not keep the job you have or cannot get one right away?

There are two reasons why I am telling you this one. Come what may, we will survive. You need to know and believe that.
Two, if you can stand up to the worst situation and deal with that, congrats, you are ready to rock and roll. When faced with a tough challenge your courage can make or break your life. Which way you go depends on you belief in yourself and your ability to listen to good advice.

Let’s look at the first aspect. Your ability to face a tough situation has a strong relation to how much you know about yourself and how well you like yourself. If you have a Strong Self Image, it is easy to tread the difficult path. But if you question yourself at each turn of the road, thats bad news for you. Very soon, you will get lost in the maze.

Fear not, you can do something about it now. Look at yourself in the mirror and see if you can smile at yourself. Do you believe in yourself? Do you like yourself? If you answered yes, you are good to go.
But instead, if you find yourself doubtful and questioning your own moves, well it is time you get started on some steps to improve your self esteem.
Forget all that the academics say and use the two steop process to boost your self esteem.

1: Avoid toxic self talk: Stop verbally abusing yourself. It will only put you down. Do you have a nagging voice inside you head? if you, turn it down or mute it completely.

2:Develop a friendlier Inner Voice. Replace the complaining voice inside your head witha more encouraging voice that helps you.

This two step exercise will help you get started on the right path. There is a lot more you can do to Develop your Self Esteem and you can find those steps on this site about Self Esteem and Confidence.
